May 1, 2003: Bestnet now offers Windows 2003 server hosting
The new Microsoft Windows 2003 server delivers better performance, tighter security, and easier management than Windows 2000 server. Windows 2003 also provides increased support for managing storage area networks and makes it easier for customers to build web services. Windows 2003 server offers build-in support for .NET and XML.

November 05, 2002: Bestnet has added a Qwest GigE Internet backbone connection
While other companies are treading water to survive an economic downturn, Bestnet is gaining ground. A second GigE connection has been added to meet consumer demand for bandwidth. The use of multimedia and media streaming servers is increasing with more end-users getting faster connections, resulting in more data transfer. Additional bandwidth capacity was added to Bestnet's St. Louis Data Center to make sure any bandwidth bottleneck would remain on the user's end. A GigE connection (1000Mbps or 1Gbps) is faster than a traditional OC12 line which can only accomodate about 622Mbps. AT&T, Sprint, Level 3, Genuity and Qwest provide Bestnet with highly scalable Internet connectivity.

July 03, 2002: Genuity added to list of multiple top brand tier 1 backbone connections
With the addition of Genuity, Bestnet now has five separate tier 1 backbone connections. Other providers to Bestnet's St. Louis data center include UUNET, Level3, AT&T, and Sprint.

June 13, 2002: Bestnet expands in New York; leases space in Newark, New Jersey
Bestnet has leased space in Newark, New Jersey, just five minutes from Manhattan. The expansion into New York will help accommodate the expansion by existing customers as well as provide expanded disaster recovery, data backup services, content distribution and redundancy. The space leased by Bestnet is within one of New Jersey's premiere telecom carrier hotels, the third largest in the Northeast. More than eighteen major carriers and service providers have a presence at the site.

June 06, 2002: Bestnet's email cluster has inbound and out bound virus detection
Any email sent through Bestnet's email server cluster will pass through an anti-virus program. The program scans inbound and outbound email for known viruses. If an email has been determined to be infected with a virus, it will be rejected and returned to the sender. An explanation for rejecting the email and a request to check for a virus and patch for known vulnerabilities will be provided.

March 04, 2002: Bestnet upgrades Level3 connection from an OC3 to GigE
The upgrade of Bestnet's Level3 Internet backbone connection from an OC3 (155Mbps) to GigE (1000Mbps or 1Gbps) was made to accommodate today's demands for more bandwidth from multimedia and streaming media customers. The GigE connection is faster than a traditional OC12 line which can only accomodate about 622Mbps.

February 26th, 2001: Bestnet has partnered with Electronic Exchange Systems (EXS) to meet a wider variety of our customers e-commerce needs. What EXS brings to the table is an Internet Payemnt Gateway and an excellent reputation to Merchant Processing. EXS maintains over 8,000 merchant accounts and is currently processing hundreds of new clients applications per month. In fact EXS approves 98% of all applicants who are looking to get a merchant account. Once you are approved, EXS has the ability to deposit funds from credit card transactions directly into any business checking account. EXS has the capability to set-up merchant processing accounts for VISA, MasterCard, American Express, Discover, JCB, Diners, ATM and Debit network systems.

January 02, 2001: Bestnet Upgrades Sprint DS3 to an OC3 connection
Upgrading our Sprint backbone connection now gives our data center two OC3 backbone connections through Sprint, and Level 3 Communications. Our data center is also supplied with an OC12 connection through AT&T, and an OC48 connection through MCI WorldCOM.

October 14, 1999: Bestnet added a new full T3 Internet backbone connection to Sprint.
